Tasting note
Nose: As is often the case, the rum has hardened the aroma; Taste: beautifully crisp with fragile malts clashing with equally crisp barley; the touch of golden syrup works wonders; Finish: Serious depth to the malt; the grains soften out with vanilla; Balance: this is high quality blending, and the usage of the rum appears to have retained the old Mac Na Mara style. Sublime. Score: 93 (Jim Murray, Whisky Bible, 2010)
