Note de dégustation (anglais)
Lifted aromas of black raspberries, wild herbs and dark chocolate define the intense character of this exciting new blend. The palate is rich and savoury with flavours reminiscent of dried herbs, toasty oak and dark red fruits layered over silky, fine-grained tannins, finishing with great length and depth of flavour. This elegant wine will benefit from mid-term cellaring, best from 2010 through 2015.
It is very focused and concentrated with deep aromas of both red and dark berries, cedar, sandalwood, and hints of dried herbs. The palate is rich and full bodied with complex flavors of plum and sundried blackberries, along with classic southern Okanagan notes of dried earth and wild sage. With ample tannins and fresh acidity, this wine will cellar well and be a perfect for rich meats or game.
Compendium refers to collection and like Oculus is a blend of the Bordeaux varietals. For the 2008 there is an increase in the Merlot presence (28%) though still driven by Cabernet Sauvignon (43%) then Cabernet Franc (26%) and Petit Verdot (3%). Quite lush and elegant, there are textural Cabernet Sauvignon notes into a long, regal, firm finish.
