Tasting note

This is a nicely savoury, spicy port and not nearly as hot and soupy as I expected out of this hot vintage. The acid level is quite fine. The nose shows lifted pepper, tobacco, twiggy note with black licorice, stewed plum/prune and chocolate. It's full bodied, sweet yet well balanced with a hint of tannin and some heat. Could live another ten years, but drink at will. Excellent length. Tasted December 2013. Score - 91. (David Lawrason, winealign.com, Dec. 13, 2013)

Dark magenta in colour, wonderful floral character and seductive fruity aromas of ripe cherries and currants, delivered in a frame of balanced tannin and acidity.
