Tasting note

Pale to medium amber; sweet vanilla and English toffee aromas; rich, creamy vanilla custard enveloped by English toffee and caramel flavours and perfectly supported by the warmth of the alcohol.

Aromas of smouldering toast from freshly baked bread, It is also mealy, with a little added salt for effect. That peculiar salty tang on the nose transfers with little difficulty to the palate. It joins a citrusy throng and a delightful sharpness which counters the sweeter, oilier nature of whiskey. A classy finale brings back the toast and dissolving sugars but, mainly, a crackling firmness, which appears to be a standoff between the wheat and the oak.
