Tasting note
From a great Ontario vintage, this wine was a Bronze winner at the 2013 WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada. An enticing herbaceous character adds to the fruit core here, with intense flavours of red fruit and a smokiness wrapped in a rich texture. Pair with pork capicola crepe rolls with caramelized onion and cheese stuffing. (VINTAGES panel, May 2015)
Spicy aromas of green peppercorns and clove then give way to raspberry and barrel notes of brown sugar. On the palate the wine offer juicy cherry, moderate tannins, fresh acidity with pepper and brown sugar on the finish. A great food wine, this will pair with braised lamb shank, beef in black bean sauce or cheese.
