Tasting note
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa is 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. This wine is also outstanding and shows that a good wine with a relatively large production can be achieved. Rich black and red currant notes, charcoal, graphite and spice box are all present in this deep ruby/purple wine that is rich, pure and best drunk over the next 12-15 years. Score - 90. (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, March 2016)
Under the purplish red colour, the nose is medium and complex. Enjoy this dry, full-bodied and woody red featuring refreshing acidity. On the palate, it showcases fleshy tannins and a broad mouthfeel that leads into a long finish.
Aromas of cedar, freshly crushed mint and sandalwood greet the nose, rounded out by a toastiness and a hint of lavender. Concentrated flavors of dark cherry and blueberry are immediately evident, followed by a cocoa powder and pepper finish.
Notes of blueberry and blackberry pie are complemented by hints of cedar and cocoa powder. This 2011 Cabernet has a robust structure, round tannins and juicy core accented by a silky finish. 92 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous *Available only at the BC Liquor Stores Festival Wine Shop (Vancouver International Wine Festival Tasting Room) from February 25, 26, and 27.
