Tasting note
This dry, full-bodied and woody red displays a complex and medium nose. On the palate, its refreshing acidity, fleshy tannins, and broad texture precede a long finish.
The 2006 Clear Lake Zinfandel is an enjoyable wine to make because its got such a unique profile. The obsidian-laden soils in Beringers Clear Mountain vineyard encourage rich flavors of black, dusty fruit year after year. The final blend is bursting with bright flavors of cherry and black pepper. A luscious mouthfeel and tobacco aromas give it an unmistakeable richness, followed by a lingering finish.
