Tasting note
Purple/black; complex nose of balsamic, herbs, spice box, blueberry; easy-going, no hard edges. Score - 90. (Jay Miller, robertparker.com, Dec. 2010)
This dry and purplish red coloured red showcases a complex nose releasing woody, empyreumatic, spicy, floral and fruity scents. You will be charmed with this medium-bodied wine revealing a broad texture, fleshy tannins and a medium finish.
This wine is made by the so-called 'King of Carmenere', Mario Geisse who is the winemaker at Casa Silva. Cuvée Colchagua offers black fruits, spicy hints, cigar and toasty hints typical of this varietal.
