Tasting note
This blend of 81% Syrah, 16% Mourvedre, 2% Cinsault and 1% Grenache offers aromas and flavours of strawberry, cherry and a stony minerality. Charles and Charles would like you to know that (and we quote), 'Yes you can drink rosé and still be a bad#ss'. All joking aside, these unconventional dudes know their stuff: the 2011 scored 90 points and was rated #42 on the Wine Spectator Top 100 Values of 2011. This is perfect for grilled salmon.
The color is similar to the 2014 with its vibrant pink, salmon and fuchsia edges. More than ever, the wild red fruit of strawberry, raspberry and Bing cherry are interwoven with Herbs de Provence and grass, a touch of citrus and an even greater presence of minerality. It was generally a lower acid year, but you wouldn't know that from the natural acid in the wine and bright finish.
"Here we have two wine chucks (Charles Bieler and Charles Smith) who partner up on a brand. Fresh and berry laden as a 2014 rose, it is dry styled with good intensity and refreshment value. Would work with your summer menu no problem." This product is was chosen by our expert Stephen Schiedel to be featured as an Insider Pick for August, 2015.
