Tasting note

The coffee notes found in the South African speciality 'coffee-style' Pinotage come from the influence of the toasted oak barrels. This example offers cherry, vanilla and spice along with the coffee tones. The softly textured palate has a touch of pleasing sweetness from the fruit and good acidity. Enjoy this with grilled peppercorn steak. (VINTAGES panel, Aug. 2013)

Good colour, nose shows cherry fruit with mocha/dark chocolate flavours, a lot of tannins in the wine, but soft and very approachable, finely integrated. Palate is mouth filling, surprisingly complex for such a young wine.
