Tasting note
The 2012 Aglianico del Vulture offers a fundamentally pleasing and enriching experience with a beautiful bouquet that is stitched tight with threads of spice, dark fruit, dark mineral and cola. There is no doubting the volcanic nature of this dark, masculine and brooding wine. The 2012 vintage seems especially voluptuous and shapely. In the mouth, the wine shows a superior sense of precision and sharpness that is shaped by the tannins and the natural acidity of Aglianico. D'Angelo has taken huge strides forward in quality.
