Tasting note

The Viña Falernia vineyard in the Elqui Valley is currently Chile's northernmost wine estate. This vintage is medium-firm, smooth and well-balanced, with nice, elegant fruit flavours. As suggested by the producer, pair with goat or lamb. (VINTAGES panel, Feb. 2015)

Wow! This is an intense, cool-climate Syrah with loads of character. Attractive notes of fresh ground peppercorns, blackberry, raspberry, licorice and tar intrigue on the nose. It’ s dry, soft textured with a sleek medium body and a beam of crisp acidity backing the sweet core of fruit. It has very good length on the finish with a nice duet of peppery spice and juicy fruit.

The Elqui valley is emerging as the top wine region for Syrah in Chile. Full-throttled red fruit, black pepper and spicy notes in this balanced wine. Try with grilled meats…any and all!
