Tasting note

The outrageously exceptional as well as fairly-priced 2008 Fume Blanc La Petite Etoile is one of the finest examples of this cuvee they have yet made. Abundant aromas of honeyed citrus, melons, nectarines, citrus oil, and crushed rocks (which provides minerality), a light straw/green color, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, and loads of fruit result in an amazing white wine. Even more remarkable, the 2008 represents the 30th vintage of this reference point of California Sauvignon Blanc. Enjoy it over the next 1-2 years. Drink: 2010-2012. Score - 92. This dry, full-bodied and woody white displays a complex and intense nose. On the palate, its refreshing acidity and broad texture precede a long finish.
