Tasting note
The 2005 Las Pizarras, produced from 100% old bush vine, dry-farmed Garnacha (70-100 years of age) is remarkably floral (violets) with traces of lavender, spices, and Provencal herbs. The black cherry flavors are mouth filling and there is enough tannin for several years of development. Tasted blind, you might think this was a high class Chateauneuf du Pape. Score - 91. This dry and purplish red coloured red showcases a complex nose releasing spicy, floral and fruity scents. You will be charmed with this full-bodied wine revealing a broad texture, fleshy tannins and a long finish.
