Tasting note
This dry, full-bodied and fruity red displays a complex and intense nose. On the palate, its refreshing acidity, fleshy tannins, and broad texture precede a long finish.
Intense aromas of black cherry, blackcurrant, dark chocolate and cigar box. It is a full bodied, extra-dry, integrated wine, with food friendly acidity, refined tannins and a long and silky finish
More than 20 years ago, winery proprietor and visionary Anthony Von Mandl spoke to the Kelowna Board of Trade about the bright future of premium BC wines. He was decidedly the only person in the room with that confidence! Working to that end has been an investment in a world class winery and establishing the top end Legacy tier of red and white wines. Compendium refers to a collection and is a blend of the Bordeaux varietals. For the 2009 there is an increase in the Merlot presence (35 percent) though still driven by Cabernet Sauvignon (40 percent) then Cabernet Franc (20 percent) and Petit Verdot (5 percent). Once again an elegant expression, the wine is an integration of fruit components and made for blossoming down the road after development in your cellar.
