Tasting note

Medium ruby colour; aromas of licorice and blackcurrant with savoury herb notes; full-bodied with spice, herb, ripe fruit and oak flavours.

The wine is garnet red, with a deep colour quite astounding for a cooler, wetter year. The nose tends towards the more earthy, herbal side of the variety, with fresh nettle and tobacco leaf characters. The fruit flavours, not as prominent as warmer years, tend towards the blackcurrant and blackberry spectrum. The palate is mid-weight, yet full of flavour with a tightness in its youth that will soften over time. The wine finishes with signature drying tannin, making it ideal for partnering with food.
