Tasting note
This is 100% tempranillo, aged for four months in American oak. Although it's not aged long enough to qualify for one of the longer-aged classification of DOC Rioja, it really delivers on flavour and style, with very attractive bright rusticity that's right for many cuisines. Look for a lot of character in the fruit, which is quite complex and nuanced, and for some juiciness in the texture thanks to the fresh acidity. The tannins are moderate and easy-going, drying things out nicely, and it finishes with clean fruit flavours. It's not built for cellaring; it's a very appealing, well-priced tempranillo to enjoy in the next year or two. Drink now to 2020. Score - 4 Stars (out of 5).
