Tasting note
Beautifully concentrated, showing a floral undertone to the rich yet racy wild berry, cassis and damson plum skin fruit character that's tightly wound around fine tannins. The finish is long and compact, but needs time in the cellar to fully shine. Best from 2014 through 2020. Special Designation: Highly Recommended. Score - 96. (Nathan Wesley, winespectator.com, Dec. 15, 2012)
The wine has a harmonious structure, combined with a generous fruit expression and a very distinguished character showing aromas of red fruits, cassis and wild berry. In the mouth the wine is rich and layered with delightful notes of vanilla and coffee.
-360 Montes Alpha M is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (80%), Merlot (10%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Petit Verdot (5%). Intense dark red in color, it is a powerful wine with beautiful soft, rounded tannins. The wine is elegant and has a very well-defined character. The inclusion of Petit Verdot adds an extra element of complexity. There is a pleasant and harmonious marriage of fruit and French oak. It is perfectly balanced, full-bodied and voluptuous mid-palate with a rewarding, lingering aftertaste of mature grapes and a level of acidity that reflects its superb structure. Montes Alpha M can be enjoyed now or cellared for future enjoyment - it will continue to improve in the bottle for at least 20 years. The 2010 harvest produced fresh wines of greater intensity, due to a 15% lower yield, concentrating the colour and aromas of the fruit and producing very soft and elegant tannins. Pair with baked turkey, rib eye steak, sherry kidneys and duck confit.
