Tasting note
The 2006 Barolo Villero is less expressive and more closed in on itself than the Rocche, but that is to be expected. Sensual dark spices, menthol, minerals, black cherries and plums come together beautifully in this firm, old-style Barolo. The finish boasts considerable power and richness. Patience is the key, but the future certainly seems bright for the Villero. Anticipated maturity: 2021-2036. Score - 94. (Antonio Galloni, erobertparker.com, Dec. 2010)
