Tasting note
Always a stylish find, the 2011 Pian Delle Vigne Brunello is just about ready to drink and happily so. Solidly concentrated fruit remains stubbornly on the palate despite the distinctive brick coloured hue. Nose is really popping and length is exceptional. In an attractive, peaking state with firm but well-integrated tannins. Wood has been nicely managed and doesn't play a dominant flavour role. Best 2016-2023. Score - 92. (Sara d'Amato, winealign.com, Sept. 6, 2016)
This dry, full-bodied and fruity red displays a complex and intense nose. On the palate, its refreshing acidity, fleshy tannins, and broad texture precede a long finish.
Displays a dark ruby luster, while the nose is full of oak, leather, black cherry, marzipan and citrus peel and the palate is sweet and rich as it pours on chocolate, liqueur and ultra-mild tannins.
A clear and brilliant ruby red in color, the wine shows aromas of ripe red fruit, floral as well, along with spicy and balsamic notes which add freshness and complexity to the wine. The palate is pleasurable, ample and creamy in the initial phase, not excessively muscular or concentrated; the ripe tannins are supple and lively. The length and persistence are underlined by a freshness and savor which, in their turn, add further drinking pleasure.
