Tasting note
Some of the fruit for this impressive and familiar Zin is sourced from sites throughout the Alexander and Dry Creek Valleys, regions famed for their Zinfandel - but that's only part of the story here. The Knotty Vines Zinfandel also contains fruit from a 15 acre old vine site planted in 1904. That should raise an eyebrow or two along with your glass. Structured and round, the 2014 Knotty Vines offers juicy and rich red and black fruit with touches of chocolate and spice. Balanced and delicious, enjoy this with barbecued ribs or with grilled chicken. (Vintages panel, Nov. 2016)
mas and flavours of strawberry and cinnamon.
Fresh, bright berry fruit from our heritage Russian River vineyard combined with the ripe peppery jamminess from our Alexander Valley and Dry Creek vineyards make for a wonderful diversity of flavor showcasing the best that Zinfandel can offer in one wine. Aging for 16 months in French and American oak enhances the Zinfandel's inherent spicy qualities, while the ebullient fruit of this medium rich wine suggests enjoyment over the next two to four years.
