Tasting note
This is a blend of corvina veronese (50%), corvinone (30%), rondinella (15%), and oseleta (5%). The grapes were dried 3-4 months, fermented about 30 days, then aged in small- and medium-sized oak for about 48 months, then bottle-aged for at least 6 months. The result is a wine that's packed with fruit flavour, with sweet ripeness at the core. The acidity is bright and clean, and the tannins are well integrated and drying. It ends of a fairly astringent note. Drink now to 2020. Score - 4.5 Stars (out of 5). (Rod Phillips, Winepointer Newsletter, Nov. 2016)
Delicious and voluptuous Amarone Strong, fruity.
A skein of rich, dusty ground spice unwinds through flavors of pureed plum, roasted fig, licorice drop, date and chocolate-covered strawberry. Light tannins lend grip, but this remains supple and elegant overall.
