Tasting note

A blend of 80% Shiraz and 20% Mataro, the 2009 Ma I Shiraz Mataro displays a deep garnet-purple color and expressive notes of blackberry preserves, baking spices, star anise and eucalypt with hints of baker's chocolate and vanilla. Medium to full bodied with plenty of ripe, pure, juicy black berry flavors in the mouth, the structure lends good balance with a medium level of velvety tannins and refreshing acid, finishing long with lingering cinnamon and vanilla hints.
