Tasting note
Elegant and fresh nose exhibiting notes of fleshy guavas and citrus peel. The palate is tangy, zingy, complex, bursting with lemon zest and a refreshing salinity: you can clearly feel a coastal influence, a wave of Pacific Ocean in your glass. Score - 95. (Judges panel, Decanter World Wine Awards, 2016)
A stunning Sauvignon Blanc, a wine that dazzles with its marine character and great intensity. Strong cool climate character, this Sauvignon Blanc shows the maritime influence of Leyda terroir with a nice minerality. Herbal aromas together with citric fruit such as grapefruit and lime, makes this Sauvignon Blanc not only an elegant wine but complex as well. On the palate it has creamy texture, herbal notes, crisp acidity and a persistent and lingering juicy ending.
The Leyda Valley is located 12 miles to the Pacific Ocean, benefitting from cooling breezes and a granite soil. The result has been Chile's best Sauvignon Blanc in recent years. Not only was it awarded Gold Medal for best Sauvignon Blanc at the 2010 Annual Wines of Chile Awards, it followed it up in 2011 as well. Once again, single vineyard origins are the step up to finer wines and delivery of flavour. Match to shellfish dishes, ceviche or green salads.
