Tasting note
It's all savoury, clovey, smoky complexity - it's very Victorian, you might say, or sophisticated as the natural synonym - but there's a good hit of red- and black-berried fruit too. At the list price, this has got it going on. Powerful-enough, more complex than you might expect, lifted higher by input from nutty oak, and chewy/rubust through the finish. Drink: 2014-2019. Score - 91. (Campbell Mattinson, winefront.com.au, Aug. 26, 2014)
The diverse cool microclimates of Shays Flat and Landsborough Valley Estates combined with the biodynamic winegrowing philosophy of Chapoutier make for a complex and engaging wine.
