Tasting note
A broad, deeply expressive, generous white, the 2013 Côtes de Tablas Blanc is all about volume and texture. The flavors are bright, savory and mineral, but at the same time all the elements are shaped by the warm, dry growing season. This is a decidedly big, creamy wine for the year, yet all the elements are in balance. Still I would give the 2012 at least a few more months to settle down. The blend is 39% Viognier, 29% Grenache Blanc, 20% Marsanne and 12% Roussanne. Drinking window: 2014-2018. Score - 90+. (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, July 2014)
The 2011 Côtes de Tablas Blanc features a serious nose, minty with stone fruits and honey lurking underneath. The mouth is broad and rich, peaches and cream, but dry, with a very long finish with a hint of tannin, cream, and rocks, nicely saline at the end.
