Note de dégustation (anglais)

Rich, generous palate with plush sweet fruit. The wine is full with juicy plums and dark cherries, supported by lingering textural tannins. Oak plays a minor yet complimentary role supporting the wine with cedary complexity and a structural backbone leading to a long lingering fruit finish. Pair with pan fried fillet steak with shallot, mushroom and Madeira sauce.
Liquor Marts
Church Block has a richly aromatic nose of preserved plums, dark fruits with complex notes of subtle cedar, milk chocolate, dried fig and sweet spices. The palate is rich, layered and voluptuous with abundant fruit flesh. 2012, a standout vintage in the forty year lineage of Church Block, promises strong potential in the cellar. Beautifully focused restraint, varietal confidence and a slow uncoiling depth of black and red fruit integrity. Fine tannins and a long finish. Yet another wine to challenge the vintage, with quite luscious, sweet berry fruits, and no herbal/green/mint notes whatsoever. Pair with rich meat dishes such as rosemary and garlic rack of lamb with fingerling potatoes fried in duck fat.  James Halliday 92 Points
