Tasting note
This faint straw colored Sauvignon Blanc from Cakebread is very good. It opens with lemon and grapefruit bouquet with hints of peach pit. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, round, slightly acidic and viscous. The flavor profile is a tasty yellow grapefruit with notes of nicely integrated lemon verbena, green apple with a hint of minerality. The finish is dry and its flavors linger and last for a while. This Sauvignon Blanc would be perfect with grilled swordfish. Score - 92. (Ken Hoggins, kenswineguide.com, May 31, 2015)
Under the greenish yellow colour, the medium and complex nose evokes fruity and vegetal notes. On the palate, it offers a broad mouthfeel that leads into a long finish. Enjoy this dry, full-bodied and fruity white featuring refreshing acidity.
Intense melon and citrus fruit aromas with delicate floral and herbal notes and a slight touch of oak are confirmed on this wine's vibrantly fruity palate, which shows a refined acidity balanced by a crisp texture.
As featured in Taste Magazine, Spring 2013. Cakebread is a major name in Napa winemaking. This Sauvignon Blanc is a perfect cool climate white wine with fresh aromas of pink grapefruit, gooseberry, melon and green apple. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with kiwi fruit, honeydew melon and minerality balanced with crisp acidity and a long, refreshing finish.
