Tasting note
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Dancing Bear Ranch (a blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Merlot aged 22 months in about 50% new French oak) has a dense purple color, wonderfully sweet cassis fruit and blackberries, with a touch of mulberry, forest floor and underbrush. Full-bodied, rich, concentrated and super-pure, this beauty is young, but accessible, yet I don't see it hitting its prime for another 7-8 years. This is a 30+ year wine that should provide compelling drinking when fully mature. Score - 96. (Robert Parker Jr., robertparker.com, Dec. 30, 2015)
A characteristically-perfumed nose of blackberry compote, dark plum, blueberry and loganberry complemented by sweet oak and forest-floor spice scents. Dense and powerful on the palate, it offers deeply concentrated black fruit flavours that are augmented on the long, savoury finish by briary spice, mineral and dark chocolate tones. Boasting great structure and balance, firm but supple tannins and tremendous reserves of fruit, our 2011 Dancing Bear will age beautifully in-bottle.
