Tasting note
Supple and creamy-textured, with mocha, ripe plum and cherry flavors that show touches of tobacco, espresso and underbrush. Full-bodied, gaining tannic traction on the finish, elegant and readily approachable. Drink now through 2018. Score - 92. (James Laube, winespectator.com, Nov. 15, 2011)
This dry and purplish red coloured red showcases a complex nose releasing woody, empyreumatic, spicy and fruity scents. You will be charmed with this full-bodied wine revealing a broad texture, fleshy tannins and a long finish.
The 2013 growing season was another great one in Napa Valley. Deep, red and opulent in colour, this wine opens with the vibrant scent of dark cherry and blackberry, subtly layered with warm notes of vanilla. The palate is explosive, bright, and balanced with cassis at the centre and flourishes of cocoa and sweet tobacco that provide nuance and continually shifting points of interest. Velvety meshed tannins make this wine lush yet structured with a texture that grabs attention, expands and unfolds. Fruit, oak and acidity are held in balance throughout the long, drawn-out finish.
