Tasting note

The 2014 Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon follows up the past two highly impressive releases from this estate. Coming from another hot vintage, this wine is a blend of eight Napa sub-appellations and displays the rich fruit flavors that Caymus has been known for. This plush and silky Cabernet opens with aromatics of black cherry, tar, clove and crème de cassis. This leads to ripe flavors of blueberry compote, dark currants, anise, black olive, mocha and pipe tobacco which cascade on the palate. The wine has an exceedingly plush texture and gorgeous mouthfeel as there is a wonderful array of dark fruit flavors at play. This dry and purplish red coloured red showcases a complex nose releasing woody, empyreumatic, spicy and fruity scents. You will be charmed with this full-bodied wine revealing a broad texture, fleshy tannins and a long finish.

A wine with aromas of ripe blackberry and dark cherry, notes of vanilla, cocoa and rose petal. Flavours of chocolate, dark berry fruits and cassis are supported by the texture of fine-grained tannins.

A dark, scarlet red color, with powerful aromas of sweet ripe cabernet grapes. Initial impressions are fantastically appealing, brooding to expansive textural sensations of finely grained cacao tannins. The whole of the wine is balanced, rich, expressive and impressively complex. The backbone of fine tannin and sweet ripeness is a carry-over from perfectly mature fruit.
