Tasting note

Both of Domaine Galevan's 2007 Cotes du Rhones are tremendous sleepers of the vintage. Both are broad, deeply flavored, full-bodied efforts offering loads of black cherries, raspberries, and darker currants. Velvety-textured and voluptuous, they are about as good as Cotes du Rhones can be. Drink them over the next 2-3 years. Score - 89. (Robert Parker Jr., erobertparker.com, Oct. 2009)

Dark and deeply coloured for a southern Rhone. On the nose are hints of spices, pine trees, pepper, white mint, black olives and cooked red berries. On the palate it appears smooth, velvety at first, then fatness and acidity rise together. A tight matrix of well-made tannins with concentration and elegance. The mid-palate is balanced, showing aromas of saffron and licorice, griotte and blonde tobacco. A rich and lingering freshness on the finish.
