Tasting note

This ripe, dense red delivers base notes of humus, mocha and toasty oak supporting the rich cassis, black cherry and dark plum fruit character. This dry, full-bodied and spicy red displays a complex and intense nose. On the palate, its refreshing acidity, fleshy tannins, and broad texture precede a long finish.

Featured in TASTE Magazine, Winter 2012 issue. Named for the Concha Y Toro winery founder, Don Melchor, this has become Chile’s best known icon wine since 1987. Flavours of currants, red fruit, cedar, tobacco and oak nuances give way to a powerful yet inviting palate of ripe fruit and tannins. While approachable now the track record suggests it can cellar up to 10 years or more.
