Tasting note
All estate grown off 45-70 year vines, the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Elderton Estate is matured for about 18 months in French (20%) and American (80%) oak puncheons, 20% new. Deep garnet-purple colored, it has intense cassis and warm blackberry aromas with some cinnamon, cumin, cardamom and lead pencil nuances. Medium to full-bodied with a medium to firm level of fine tannins and crisp acid, there's a hint of toasty oak in the long finish. This wine is approachable now and should continue to drink through 2017. Score - 90. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, erobertparker.com, Dec. 2010)
Style: Medium bodied, rich, classy. Color: Deep purple. Aroma: Blackberry, cassis, mint. Flavor: Chocolate, back fruits, mint.
