Tasting note
The 2008 Malleolus de Sanchomartin was also tasted from a barrel sample. Deep purple in color, it displays beautiful aromatics that are very seductive. Elegant on the palate with ample underlying structure, this is a focused, intense offering that will evolve for more than a decade. Malleolus de Sanchomartin is sourced from a vineyard planted in 1964 with cuttings grafted from the Valderramiro vineyard. Alcoholic fermentation is with indigenous yeasts with ML in barrel. The wine is then aged for 22 months in French oak. Score - 94-97. (Jay Miller, robertparker.com, June 2010)
