Tasting note
Reconciling serious production figures with quality, love for the territory and environmental values is as praiseworthy a task as it is arduous. But this has never discouraged Salvatore and Vinzia Di Gaetano, whose winery now has plots all over Sicily, where they express the potential of each territory to the full. The heart of Firriato however remains the countryside near Trapani, with the estates of Baglio Soria, Borgo Guarini, Dàgala Borromeo and Pianoro Cuddìa ... The fullness and exuberant fruit of the Santagostino 2012, from nero d'Avola and syrah, was rewarded with a Tre Bicchieri. Score - 3 out of 3 Glasses. (Gambero Rosso Italian Wines, 2015)
This dry, full-bodied and fruity red displays a complex and medium nose. On the palate, its refreshing acidity, firm tannins, and broad texture precede a medium finish.
