Tasting note
Matured 16 months in 300-liter French hogsheads of which 11% were two-year-old, 33% three-year-old, 38% four-year-old and 18% five-year-old, the 2011 Bush Vine Grenache is medium garnet-purple in color with aromas of raspberry preserves and crushed mulberries over suggestions of mandarin peel, white pepper and cardamom. Full-bodied and voluptuously fruited in the mouth, it gives tons of spiced red berry flavor layers with balancing acidity and medium levels of chewy tannins. It finishes long. Drink it now to 2019+. Score - 91+. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, MW, erobertparker.com, Feb. 2013)
Keeping oak out of play in flavour, but in play for texture was the smart way to go. It leaves the display of spicy red fruits in high relief on both bouquet and palate; juicy mouthfeel is the order of the day. 94 Points - James Halliday; 94 Points - Wine Advocate (2013 Vintage) *Available only at the BC Liquor Stores Festival Wine Shop (Vancouver International Wine Festival Tasting Room) from February 25, 26, and 27. Festival Wine Shop is open to tasting room patrons. Same day tasting tickets must be presented for entry.
