Tasting note
The jaw-dropper in the lineup was the quality of the 2015 Haut Cotes de Roussillon Villages les Vignes de Bila Haut. While the entry level wine from this estate, the quality here is incredible, especially at the price point. Made from 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 10% Carignan from a mix of the estate's terroirs, aged in concrete tanks and stainless steel, it offers a rich, concentrated and serious feel to go with fabulously pure notes of blackberries, black raspberries, crushed rock and melted licorice. Thick, unctuous and luxuriously textured, this will certainly be the greatest vintage of this cuvee to date. Score - 91-93. (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, April 27, 2016)
This dry, full-bodied and fruity red displays a simple and medium nose. On the palate, its refreshing acidity, firm tannins, and broad texture precede a long finish.
Colour: deep garnet red. Nose: aromas of black cherry. Palate: this wine is fleshy, well-structured with the warm and savage of soils of the Roussillon area. To drink within 2 years.
A blend of mainly Grenache follow by Syrah and Carignan, this red wine has aromas of fresh herbs, raspberry and spice. Enjoy this wine with lemon garlic chicken or herbed pork tenderloin.
