Tasting note

The 2011 Terroir Series Malbec Finca Orellana is sourced from one plot of vines in the San Carlos quarter of La Consulta (Uco Valley) at 990 meters altitude in the shallow soils of the Tunuyán river bed that is rich in calcium carbonate-covered boulders with sand and very little clay (around 1-2%). Fermentation was in cement with malo and 18 months upbringing in new French oak barrels. Following the sensations I found last year with the 2010 vintage, there are more charred oak, roasted aromas, smoky with ripe black fruit (blackberries, cherries and blackcurrants) but with elegance. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with round, sweet tannins that are quite tasty and long, with good acidity and freshness. Score - 93. (Luis Gutierrez, robertparker.com, March 16, 2015)

This medium-dry and woody red displays a complex and intense nose. On the palate, its lively acidity, firm tannins, and full-bodied texture precede a long finish.
