Tasting note
Vibrant peach, cantaloupe, orange peel and citrus blossom on the nose. Quite mouthfilling with a medium-full body, smooth texture and ripe fruit core, where ripe mango makes an appearance. There's a flinty white-pepper edge to the finish. Enjoy as a sipper, or alongside seared scallops or blackened tuna steaks. (VINTAGES panel, June 2012)
92 points – Natalie MacLean. This bright white is very aromatic and vibrant with lots of welcomed acidity. It is floral with peach blossom and a bone dry finish. Food matches include seared scallops or blackened tuna steaks. The 2011 McManis Viognier was named Best of Class by the San Francisco Chronicle. A fine sipper to enjoy before the meal, it is a hit with Pacific Rim cuisine, grilled chicken or prawns.
