Tasting note
This bottle delivers what you expect from a Napa cabernet: rich fruit, full body, and pretty high alcohol (14.4%). It also delivers a lot of complexity, good structure, and a very effective fruit-acid balance so that the fruit won't overwhelm what you're eating. I'm reminded of a South African winemaker saying that some wines (not his, of course!) jump out of the bottle and strangle any food in the vicinity. This cabernet most definitely doesn't do that. Aside from the good balance, you'll find easy-going tannins. It's drinking well now and will hold well another four or five years. Score - 4 1/2 Stars out of 5. This dry, full-bodied and woody red displays a complex and medium nose. On the palate, its refreshing acidity, fleshy tannins, and broad texture precede a long finish.
This Cabernet Sauvignon has a beautiful nose with layers of berries, cocoa powder, with hints of clove and spice. The tannins build a nice core structure with a round mouthfeel. Dark fruit, wild berries and cocoa flavours lead to a finish with well-integrated oak.
