Tasting note
This wine is an essential for me every vintage. It always over delivers on price and quality. This vintage is something that is a leap above what has come before it. The blend consists of 57% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Cabernet Franc, 4% Malbec, and 6% Petit Verdot. The nose is pencil shaving and cocoa powder over black currant and raspberry. When you take your first sip le Grand Vin enters your mouth with cherry and strawberry. This wine then moves to black currant, blackberry and dark plum. When the wine starts to finish it blooms into subtle violet. The floral note on this wine lingers as it moves to cocoa powder. This wine is quite tight and closed if you open it now, but it will start to open up with an hour in a decanter. While this will be approachable young I anticipate this wine will age for 10-15 years with ease in a proper cellar. Score - 5 Stars (out of 5). (André Proulx, andrewinereview.ca, Oct. 20, 2016)
This dry garnet coloured wine features intense woody, fruity and vegetal scents and offers a broad texture as well as fleshy tannins.
A generous and dark-hued wine, with red fruit aromas and flavours of plums, black cherries and chocolate that are well integrated with oak flavours.
This rich full-bodied wine features a deep intense ruby colour, and deliciously persistent aromas of ripe red raspberry, dark chocolate with toasty caramel and vanilla notes. Opulent notes of blackberry fruit, spice and pepper grace the palate with a well-rounded tannin structure and fruit-driven lingering finish.

Flavours are bright, with notes of black currant, blueberry and cherry. The wine has a firm backbone of fine tannins, with a generous texture from the Merlot… has the fingerprints of a fine Bordeaux red. This special wine is intensely flavoured, complex, built for aging and pairs nicely with prime rib. The Osoyoos Larose project is an impressive single vineyard joint venture between Vincor Canada and Groupe Taillan of Bordeaux since 2001. As the vines have aged and the understanding of the terroir has developed, the wine has risen to become one of Canada’s best.
