Tasting note
A Shiraz/Tempranillo/Mourvèdre/Grenache blend, this Aussie red brings cherry, raspberry, tomato plant, vanilla, plum and licorice notes on the nose. It's a full-bodied, chewy red, with juicy blackberry and raspberry notes as well as licorice, black pepper and tarry notes, with very modest tannin and light acidity. Its another red that would benefit from 10-15 in the fridge when quaffing in warmer temps -- and would sing with a wood-fired pizza. Very good for the price. Score - 4 out of 5 stars. Under the cherry-red colour, the nose is intense and complex. Enjoy this dry, medium-bodied and woody red featuring light acidity. On the palate, it showcases fleshy tannins and a broad mouthfeel that leads into a long finish.
The colour is a beautiful black cherry with aromas of dark plum, chocolate, and savoury black olive. The palate is a soft mouthful of forest fruits with wild bramble undertones and a fine stylish finish.
The colour is vibrant cherry with a burst of red berries and spice on the nose, leading to a softly textured finish. This is a wine to be enjoyed as a relative youngster. It drinks beautifully with a range of foods, including Mediterranean influenced meat dishes, spicy Indian style curries and hearty casseroles.
Expect luscious purple fruit, chocolate mint wafers, vanilla, licorice, violets, cedar and baking spices¿It's well balanced with juicy acidity to give it lift and nice length across the finish. 90 points - WineScores.ca, Nov 2013.
