Tasting note
The 2007 Barolo Ornato is striking. It shows marvelous delineation in it aromatics, tremendous breadth on the palate and fabulous balance. As always, the Ornato is a plush Barolo, with tons of Serralunga character and muscle. Rose petals, crushed flowers and spices add complexity to the dark fruit, while the French oak is very well-integrated. This is one of the most polished wines I have ever tasted from Pio Cesare. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2027. Score - 95. (Antonio Galloni, erobertparker.com, Oct. 2011)
This dry and garnet coloured red showcases a complex nose releasing empyreumatic, spicy and fruity scents. You will be charmed with this full-bodied wine revealing a broad texture, fleshy tannins and a long finish.
This is a very rich Barolo, dense, with supple tannins, full of concentrated ripe fruit, elegant and powerful, with an extremely long life. Produced in small quantities and only in excellent vintages.
