Tasting note

This wine, named for the crested porcupines of the region, is a stellar value. A serious, dark and smoky Syrah with blackberry, spice and vanilla. It loves grilled meats, from hamburgers to thick juicy steaks.
LCBO
This dry, full-bodied and spicy red displays a complex and intense nose. On the palate, its light acidity, fleshy tannins, and full-bodied texture precede a medium finish.
SAQ
Intense red colour with red fruit flavours and hints of pepper.

JANUARY 2014 Insider Pick from Adele Shaw, Portfolio Manager for Spirits, Wines of South Africa, Fortified, and Asian Wines: "From the Swartland region of South Africa, this wine has dark berry fruit flavours, balanced with soft tannins and hints of oak. Pairs great with Asian cuisine."
