Tasting note
This tangy, approachable Pinot is designed to go spectacularly with food. Aromatically it shows nice red cherry, wet earth, redcurrant and a flinty smoke note. Dry, medium bodied, crisp and vibrant with a red-fruit core and smoky accents. Give it 1-2 years in the cellar or enjoy it tonight with braised chicken or turkey, veal medallions in a red-wine sauce, or goulash featuring root vegetables. (VINTAGES panel, Jan. 2012)
Dark Berry Fruit and cherry flavours are supported by soft tannins.
Cellar selection pinot noir has a concentrated black cherry and dark berry aromas which follow through to the palate where dark berry fruit and cherry flavours are supported by soft tannins. This is a ripe and deeply coloured food wine, designed for early drinking but capable of cellaring for 3-5 years. Serve with hearty pastas, duck and new zealand lamb.
