Tasting note
Winemaker Jen Beloz honed her craft working for 10 years with the Zinfandel specialist Joel Peterson of Ravenswood. Her experience shines in this Zinfandel blend, itself a reflection of the field blends of the Italian immigrants who originally settled Napa. Impressive aromas of blueberry, spice box and smoke. Ripe and smooth with a massively robust mouthfeel, it's easy to understand why the innovative Prisoner has spawned so many imitators. A great match for flank steak with rosemary and garlic. 92 Points from Wine Advocate. This is a robust blend from California with immense aromas of cedar, blackberry, cherry and dried floral notes that fill the glass. Black currant, ripe fig, savoury spice and sweet oak flavours lead you to the well-balanced finish boasting soft, integrated tannins.
