Tasting note
The 2012 Cotes Catalanes Cuvee Constance is a blend of equal parts Grenache and Carignan that comes half from estate vineyards and half from purchased grapes. Aged all in concrete tank, it offers a supple, pure and seamless profile, with solid aromas of black cherry, spice, scrub brush and licorice all emerging from the glass. Bottled just two weeks prior to this tasting, it was, nevertheless, showing beautifully with plenty of texture, sweet tannin and solid length on the finish. Drink it over the coming 3-4 years. Score - 90. (Jeb Dunnuck, robertparker.com, April 2014)
Under the purplish red colour, the nose is intense and complex. Enjoy this dry, full-bodied and fruity red featuring refreshing acidity. On the palate, it showcases fleshy tannins and a broad mouthfeel that leads into a medium finish.
