Tasting note
All of the mainstream red winemaking options are used, demanding (and receiving) unrelenting attention to detail. This is a hero Barossa Valley shiraz, its backbone planted in 1847, with great colour, profound complexity, yet retaining a calm personality within its array of primary, fresh flavours. Drink By: 2044. Special Value. Score - 97. (James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au, Nov. 3, 2016)
This dry purplish red coloured wine features intense woody, empyreumatic, spicy and fruity scents and offers a broad texture as well as fleshy tannins.
From the vines planted in 1847, some of the oldest Shiraz vines in the world… everything it should be from 2012, with layers of black fruits, licorice, tannins and cedar oak.
