Tasting note

Although it sounds like it could be a lyric from the song 'Lady Marmalade,' Chocalán is, in fact, the name of this Chilean winery. This is a solidly built wine offering lots of nice dark fruit and spice character with a structured finish. The Syrah here is backed by 8% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Viognier. This dry purplish red coloured wine features intense woody, empyreumatic, spicy, floral, fruity and vegetal scents and offers a full-bodied texture as well as fleshy tannins.

Dark red color with violet reflects. Strong aromatic intensity reminding ripe plums, raspberries and blackberries, morello cherry with a smoky note and vanilla aromas. Fresh, firm tannins, and a well balanced structure. Suggestions: Serve at 17º - 18 oC. This wine will be perfect for pairing with barbecues, wagyu, goat and lamb meat. Curry and spicy food.
